The Vladimir Region Office of the Investigative Committee continues investigating a case it took over from the police on 25 July 2016, which is thoroughly assessing the conditions and the quality of medical services provided to Anna Bobrikova.

On 10 June 2016, doctors of the Vladimir Region perinatal center stated that the 32-year-old woman had complications after giving birth to a baby and carried out a surgery on her. After receiving aid in hospitals in Vladimir Region the patient in coma was transferred to the Health Ministry’s Hematology Research Center in Moscow where she remained until 13 October 2016 under observation of specialists.

For further treatment Anna was transferred on 13 October 2016 to the Federal Medical Biological Agency’s Clinical Center of High Medical Technologies in the town of Khimki, Moscow Region.

Despite all measures taken to save her life, Anna’s body broke down and on the night of 14 October 2016 doctors had to certify her death.

Owing to tragic consequences, investigators classified the actions of yet unidentified persons as a crime under Part 2 of Article 109 of the RF Penal Code (negligent homicide due to malpractice).

In October 2016, Anna’s husband asked Chairman of the RF Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin via social networks to pay attention to substandard medical assistance provided to his wife in hospitals in Vladimir Region. On the order of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee the chief of the regional investigative authority has talked to the man immediately and filed the information he got from the man with the case.
