A 15-year-old inmate of a children’s home got into a fight with one of his peers and was injured in the town of Zlatoust on 26 November 2016. The boy was taken to hospital with a closed brain injury, a skull cap fracture and a brain contusion.

Considering the circumstances, the police have had to hand over the materials of the check into the incident to the Chelyabinsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee. Following the check an investigator has opened an investigation in deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm under Part 1 of Article 111 of the RF Penal Code. The investigation is under control of the head of the regional investigative authority.

At present, urgent investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the fight. The investigators are going to give legal assessment to the discharge of duties by the facility’s staff. The investigation is ongoing.
