The Saratov Region Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against the 22-year-old mother of children found dead on a fire scene in Voskresenskoye District, Saratov Region. The woman is suspected of negligent homicide of two people under Part 3 of Article 109 of the RF Penal Code.

As became known earlier, a fire started in a house in a settlement in Voskresenskoye District on 18 November 2016. Two small children were inside the house unattended. The bodies of the year-and-half-old boy and 4-year-old girl were found on the fire scene.

According to investigators, the suspect had left the children unattended in the house and the fire had started while she was away. The boy and the girl died on the scene.

At present the investigators are carrying investigative operations to find out all the circumstances surrounding the deaths. They have ordered forensic medical and fire examinations. The investigation is ongoing.
