Probe launched into Romison R66 helicopter crash over Lake Teletskoye

On 12 February 2017, investigators got a report that a Robinson R66 helicopter crashed over Lake Teletskoye in the Altai Republic. Following the results of a check and considering that there is still no connection with the helicopter and its location remains unknown, the Western Siberian Transport Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in violation of aircraft traffic safety rules entailing death of two or more people by negligence under Part 3 of Article 263 of the RF Penal Code.

According to preliminary information, there were 5 people aboard the helicopter, including 1 pilot and 4 passengers.

At present an investigation team of experienced forensic experts is on their way to the place where the helicopter might have crashed. In addition, investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident: IDs of those on board are being checked, conditions of the flight and other information vital for the investigation are being looked into.
