In Voronezh, probe launched into injuring man by ice fallen from roof of house in Leninsky District

Following the results of a check the Voronezh Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in unsafe services that entailed grievous bodily harm to a person under Part 2, item “c” of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, on 21 February 2017, an ice mound fell on a 48-year-old man passing by house No 41 in Koltsovskaya street in the town of Voronezh resulting from poor snow cleaning services provided by workers of a building management company. The man sustained an open brain head injury, a skull fracture, a brain contusion, a minor acute subdural hemorrhage of the frontal lobe, closed fracture of left clavicle, which are preliminarily qualified as grievous bodily harm.

At present, the investigators keep on conducting necessary investigative operations to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime and to document the evidence. They have examined the scene of the incident, requested necessary documents, are questioning eye-witnesses, residents of the house, medical workers and employees of the building management company. The investigation is ongoing.
