The Saratov Region Office of the Investigative Committee has asked the prosecutor of the town of Engels to pass for further investigation a case opened by the police over deliberate cause of minor bodily harm with the use of objects as weapons under Part 2, item “c” of Article 115 of the RF Penal Code. The case was opened against a local woman who attacked a paramedic.

According to investigators, on the afternoon of 24 February 2017, a paramedic arrived to help an unconscious woman in a flat in Odesskaya Street in Engels. When the paramedic arrived he saw that the patient was fully conscious and drunk. The woman and her parents started to have a conflict over her lifestyle, where the paramedic sided with the parents. The woman then snatched a pen out of paramedic’s hand and hit him with it on the right side of his head. The man reported it to the ambulance dispatcher and police.

At present, investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
