8 suspects in St. Petersburg metro bombing detained

The Investigative Committee’s Major Cases Directorate continues the investigation in a terrorist attack that took place in the Satin Petersburg metro on 3 April 2017.

Together with the Federal Security Service and the Interior Ministry, investigators have detained today 6 people in Saint Petersburg and 2 more in Moscow.

The names of the suspects are Seifulla Khakinov, Ibragibzhon Yermatov, Dilmurod Muidinov, Bakhram Yergashev, Azamzhon Makhmudov, Makhmadyusuf Mirzaalimov, Shokhista Karimova and Sodik Ortikov.

The investigators seized from their home an explosive device identical to the one found at the Ploshchad Vosstania station, guns and ammunition.

The investigators are going to ask courts to remand the suspects in custody pending trial.

The investigation is ongoing.
