In Arkhangelsk Region, person detained as suspect in attempted murder of two persons

The Arkhangelsk Region and Nenets Autonomous Area Office of the Russian Investigative Committee has launched a probe against 33-year-old ex-con, the resident of the regional center, who is suspected in attempted murder of two persons under Part 3 of Article 30 and Item A of Part 2 of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code.

According to current information, a conflict has appeared between a 26-year-old bus driver and a drunk passenger, who refused to pay fee on a bus stop in Arkhangelsk on 17 April 2017. The accused stabbed the bus driver with flic knife twice in the face, then he stabbed in the face a 22-year-old student, who witnessed the crime and tried to stop him.

The person of interest has been detained. Both affected are in a hospital.

Investigative operation is underway in order to determine all the circumstances surrounding the incident. Witnesses are being questioned, forensic tests are being carried out in order to determine harm done to health of the affected. Criminal investigation is underway.
