The Murmansk Region Office of the Investigative Committee has launched a probe in infliction of death to two or more persons by negligence under Part 3 of Article 109.

According to investigators, on 22 April 2017 the investigative agencies received information about death of two children aged 10 and 7, and one woman, aged 48, in a fire. The fire has happened in an apartment, located at Pobedy Street, the town of Kovdor. The investigative group, including investigators-criminalists from the Head Office of the Investigative Committee immediately took off to the scene.

Necessary investigative operations are being carried out to find out all the consequences surrounding the incident, including cause of fire. Forensic tests are planned to be carried out. Legal assessment to actions of child neglect and juvenile offence agencies will be given. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
