Three suspects of St. Petersburg metro terrorist attack charged

The Major Cases Directorate of the Investigative Committee continues investigating a terrorist attack in the Saint Petersburg metro that took place on 3 April 2017.

At the moment there are 10 people under investigation. Three of them, Bakhram Ergashev, Ibragimzhon Ermatov and Makhamadyusuf Mirzaalimov have been charged with a terrorist attack under Part 3, item “b” of Article 205 and illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation and carrying explosives and explosive devices under Part 2 of Article 222.1 of the RF Penal Code.

At present the investigators are working to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime. The injured parties are kept on being interviewed, and a number of forensic medical examinations have been ordered to assess the injuries. The investigators keep checking all the connections of each of the accused and suspects. They are going to give legal assessment to the actions of all persons involved in the terrorist attack and to qualify them in accordance with the RF Penal Code.
