Alexander Bastrykin orders man suspected of injuring woman during incident in downtown Moscow held and interrogated immediately

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee has ordered the head of the Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee to detain and interrogate a man who injured a woman during a brawl on a pedestrian crossing in Moscow.

When mass media spread the reports on the incident, investigators joined in looking into all the circumstances surrounding it and opened an investigation following a check.

According to the investigators, the man was moving on his BMW on 1st Vrazhsky Lane from Plyushchikha Street. He did not let the woman with two children cross the road on the pedestrian crossing. The woman was scared and slapped the man’s car with her hand and then went to take the children to school. The man got out of his car, came up with the woman and hit her twice on her arm. Mass media published a CCTV footage of the incident.

By now the 44-year-old man has been delivered to the investigative department and is being interrogated. The investigation is ongoing.
