Another suspect of St. Petersburg metro terrorist attack detained in Moscow

Mukhamadyusup Ermatov has been detained in Moscow following instructions of an investigator of the Investigative Committee’s Major Cases Directorate as part of the investigation in the terrorist attack that took place in the Saint Petersburg metro on 3 April 2017. According to investigators, the man was involved in illegal circulation of explosives and was connected with Agbarzhon Dzhalilov.

In addition, the investigators have pressed charges against three other suspects Saifulla Khakimov, Azamzhon Makhmudov and Dilmurod Muidinov. They are accused of a terrorist attack under Part 3, item “b” of Article 205 and illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying explosives or explosive devices under Part 2 of Article 222.1 of the RF Penal Code.  The rest of the suspects are planned to be charged soon.

The investigators keep on looking into all the circumstances surrounding the terrorist attack. They are working with the injured parties and have ordered a number of forensic medical examinations to assess the harm done to them. They also continue checking connections of each of the suspects and accused. The investigators are going to give all-round legal assessment to the actions of all people involved in the tragedy in the St. Petersburg metro and will qualify them in accordance with the RF Penal Code.
