More probes launched in shelling Donbass by Ukrainian army

The RF Investigative Committee’s Central Office has revealed that the Ukrainian forces shelled settlements in Luhansk and Donets region killing civilians.

Executing criminal orders of higher commanders, soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and National Guard fired heavy artillery weapons at civilian infrastructure in the settlement of Yakovlevka, Yasinovataya District, the towns of Yasinovataya and Dokuchayevsk and Petrovsky District of Donetsk in the period between 1 and 5 May 2017.  The shelling killed one civilian and wounded four more, including a pregnant woman.

Investigations have been opened in the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare under Part 1 of Article 256 of the RF Penal Code.

In this particular case, the investigators are going to identify not only those who executed the orders, but also the officials who gave them, as they have identified dozens of military servants who are now being prosecuted for similar crimes. The Investigative Committee is going to keep on responding to each crime committed by the Ukrainian army against civilians.
