This time he heard out 19 people from Krasnodar Territory, Dagestan, the city of Moscow, Moscow Region, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk and Rostov Regions. The Chairman also met with the citizens who were not included in the primary list.

Unfortunately, complaints about procedural decisions made regarding cases and checks carried out by regional investigative authorities have become traditional. In each case, Mr. Bastrykin ordered unbiased checks in all complaints and promised the complainants that he would personally see to it that all the decisions are well-grounded and legal.

The Chairman also talked to member of the State Duma Nikolai Antoshkin. Sharing views on necessity of popularizing historical heritage and achievements of our ancestors among the younger generation, the member of the parliament discussed with Mr. Bastrykin organization of the international Kremlin cadet ball. They unanimously noted positive effect of such events instilling into youth moral values and respect to the heritage of the homeland.

The Investigative Committee’s position on all the complaints from citizens remains unchanged: each person coming to investigative authorities for help must be heard. Regional divisions of the Investigative Committee, whose heads also hold meetings with citizens, also have to have principled approach to restoration and protection of legal rights of citizens. This work is an integral part for assessing quality of staff’s performance.
