Man from Krasnokamsk to stand trial for series of major crimes committed against children in Perm Territory and Orenburg

The Perm Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has finished criminal proceedings against a 30-year-old man from the town of Krasnokamsk. He is charged with 7 counts of major crimes against 3 girls and 3 boys.

According to investigators, in spring 2011, the young man assaulted two boys under 14 years, who were walking in the woods on the suburbs of Krasnokamsk. In October 2013, in the same town he took a first-grader to a deserted place and committee a sex crime against him there. He then killed the 7-year-old and buried the body. The police officers of Krasnokamsk, Perm Territory Police Department, rescuers of the Perm Territory Directorate of the Emergency Ministry, investigators and criminalists of the Perm Territory Office of the Investigative Committee and volunteers searched for the missing boy for a long time.

More than three years later, the man moved to Orenburg and got a job at a distribution center of a large retail network. In January 2017, the man took a drug and alcohol and tried to kidnap two small girls from a yard, but the 9 and 11-year-olds fought back. They screamed loudly, attracting attention of adults and the accused could not finish what he started. The same day, he assaulted a 12-year-old girl, shoved her into the trunk of his car, took to the outskirts of the town and sexually abused. While in the trunk, the girl had phoned her mother, who called the police at once. Along with law-enforcers, volunteers were also involved in the search and investigation. The same evening volunteers found the car with the girl and the assailant inside. A police squad delivered the girl to hospital, while the man was detained. The management of the Investigative Committee charged the perm Territory Office with investigating all the crimes committed by the man.

The investigators did a lot of work to solve the crimes, including during the search operation in Krasnokamsk. They questioned hundreds of people, ran dozens of forensic examinations, carried out hundreds of investigations of scenes and other investigative operations. The case contains 42 files.

At present, the investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case with the signed indictment has been referred to court.

Volunteers, local residents and journalists took the crimes to heart, displayed best human qualities and provided invaluable assistance to the investigators. Other crimes were prevented only thanks to their active participation. Selfless actions of local residents, volunteers from Orenburg, who helped to find the girl were highly appreciated by the Investigative Committee. Following order of Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin valuable presents and commendations were given to three volunteers: Bulat Bairov, Nikita Lapshin and Ildar Salimov, correspondent of Orenburg broadcasting company Yelena Belova and to the 12-year-old survivor for her courage.
