In Saint-Petersburg jury find accomplices of killing Belgian Bris Josef guilty

The jury have recognized the evidence gathered by the second department of the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to return a guilty verdict to Valeria Kubasova, Akhmed Umarov, Timur Makuzayev and Nasimdzhon Islomov. Depending on the role of each one they were found guilty of and involved in the murder of Belgian citizen Bris Josef committed on hire and out of mercenary motives.

According to investigators, in April 2012, Kubasova to handle her debt she owed to Bris Josef offered Umarov to kill the Belgian for a fee. Umarov agreed and together with Makuzayev on 5 April 2012 following Kubasova’s instructions med the victim in the city of Saint-Petersburg and lured him in their Volkswagen Golf. After that Umarov and Makuzayev took Josef to Tosno District, Leningrad Region, where they strangled him and threw the body in a ditch. Then Umarov acting under the agreement reached earlier with Islomov arrived to his residence, took off his clothes covered in Josef’s blood and changed into clothes given by Islomov.

Ultimate classification of actions of each of the defendants, punishment for each of them and other matters will be determined by Leningrad Region court while convicting.
