Ivanovo Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against former Vice-Chairman of Ivanovo Region Government – Head of Kineshma town district administration Andrey Chuzhbinkin. He is charged with a crime under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (taking a bribe on a very large scale by an official occupying a state position in the constituent entity of the Russian Federation).

According to investigators, in the period between 2008 and 2013, in the town of Ivanovo Chuzhbinkin multiple times received bribes through a middleman for actions in the interests of the CEO and the company he headed that constructed one of the buildings of regional children’s clinical hospital and for general patronage. The amount of the bribe constituted 15% of the sum transferred to the account of the contractor under a state contract and was equal to over 40 million rubles.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, so the criminal case with the approved indictment will soon be sent to court to be tried on the merits.

The criminal case against the mediator – deputy head of Architecture and Construction Department of Ivanovo Region Igor Savochkin has been tried in court and the defendant found guilty.
