Upon motion of Leningrad Regional Investigations Directorate investigator, court rules on preventive measure for person accused of girl’s murder in 2011

The Leningrad Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has pressed charges against a 55-year-old citizen of Volosovsky District for committing a murder of a 10-year-old missing girl from Volosovo in 2011 (Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia--murder of a minor).

According to the investigation, on March 26, 2011, the man had strangled the 10-year-old girl in a private house in Volosovo. The body of the victim had been placed in a forest several kilometers away from the Izvara settlement and covered with snow.

Investigator of the Investigative Committee of Russia interrogated the detainee about the circumstances of the offense in detail and carried out required investigative actions with his participation. Under an investigative motion, the court has ruled to put the man in custody.

Investigative actions under the probe aimed to collect and prove evidence are in progress.
