The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe into clap of air and gas mixture under Paragraph С of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rendering of services that do not meet safety requirements, entailing by negligence infliction of severe health damage).

According to investigation, on July 2, 2021 air and gas mixture clapped in an apartment located on the 1st floor of a 3-storey residential building in Nizhny Novgorod. As a result, structures of the building partially collapsed and 3 men, born in 1977, 1951 and 1980, were injured. All victims were hospitalized.

At present investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia are working at the scene together with forensic investigators and experts, carrying out a detailed inspection. The causes of the incident are being established, necessary examinations are being appointed, witnesses are being questioned. 

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requested a report on the investigative actions that had been carried out and put the progress of investigation under Supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
