Reports have appeared in the media about the ongoing criminal prosecution by the Ukrainian prosecutor's office and charges in absentia of a number of "crimes" pressed against the vice-admiral, deputy commander of the Russian Pacific Fleet.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructed the investigators of the Central Office to initiate an inquiry into these circumstances and give them a legal assessment from the point of view of the current legislation and norms of international law. If there is evidence, a criminal case will be initiated regarding the illegal criminal prosecution of the vice-admiral for alleged crimes, in the framework of which the investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia will identify the officials of the Ukrainian prosecutor's office who took specific decisions.
