Two criminal cases are launched on the shelling of civilians and civilian targets by the troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation launched two new criminal cases under the offense prescribed in  Part 1 Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of civilian persons, use of banned methods and means of warfare), against the servicemen of the 24th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Yevgeny Kurash, Sergey Postupalsky, Roman Mamavko, Nikolai Yanchey, 25th separate paratrooper brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Andrey Kachanov, Roman Zabrodsky, Andrey Tkachuk, Dmitry Chernichenko, Emil Ishkulov, Vladimir Kapitula, 30th separate mechanized brigade Armed Forces of Ukraine: Alexander Zinevich, Nikolai Perestupnyak, 56th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Dmitry Dovbich, Sergey Sirchenko, Dmitry Gerasimenko, Vyacheslav Bugaychuk, Alexander Bondarenko, Miroslav Verkhovy, Artem Puchkov, Gennady Boyko.

According to the investigation, between June 14 and June 15, 2022, 24hrs, the mentioned above servicemen gave and executed the criminal orders for targeted artillery shelling of the civil targets from heavy weapons, including using the Tochka-U tactical missile system. They attacked the Donetsk, Makeevka, Gorlovka, Svetlodarsk cities, and the Yelenovka, Krasny Partizan, Zemlyanki settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic; the Stakhanov city and the Fomovka settlement of the Lugansk People's Republic.

As a result of the shelling of the Donetsk, Makeevka, Gorlovka and Svetlodarsk cities, including the Yelenovka settlement, the Krasny Partizan and the  Zemlyanka villages, 9 civilians, including a juvenile, were injured, one civilian died, 55 houses and civilian infrastructure were damaged, including the building of the kindergarten.

During the artillery shelling of the Stakhanov city and the Fomovka settlement located in the Lugansk People's Republic, using the Tochka-U tactical missile system, a juvenile was injured, 5 civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged, including the building of the agricultural college.

The Russian Investigative Committee continues to identify the units of the Ukrainian armed formations and the individuals involved in the shelling of civilians.
