On August 22, 2022, the investigating authorities of the Russian Investigative Committee for Rostov oblast received a message about the 12-year-old girl's death at the Children's City Hospital in Volgodonsk. Based on that, a criminal case was launch on the offense of a crime prescribed in Part 2, Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (infliction of death by negligence).

The investigation is identifying all the circumstances of the incident, and all necessary examinations were appointed.

Mr. A. I. Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, instructed Mr. A.G. Huade, Head of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Rostov oblast, to submit a report on the circumstances of the incident. The investigation is a subject to control in the Main Investigative Directorate.
