Search warrants are being executed in connection with the murder of Ms. Darya Dugina investigation

The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia continues the investigation of a criminal case launched on the the murder of Ms. Daria Dugina, a journalist and political scientist, committed by a generally dangerous way (paragraph “f”, Part 2, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

It was detected, that on the evening of August 20, 2022, Ms. Daria Dugina was driving home from the "Tradition" festival in Moscow oblast. The explosion of an explosive device occurred between the intersection of Mozhayskoye and Zvenigorodskoe highways, an explosive device was installed in the bottom of the car on the driver's side. Ms. Darya Dugina died at the scene from the injuries received.

During the urgent investigative-search activities, it was identified, that Ms. Natalia Vovkk, a citizen of Ukraine, was involved in the commission of the mentioned crime, she rented an apartment in the same building, where the victim lived in order to monitor the victim. The investigation is conducting a search in this apartment in order to find items that are significant for the investigation. There is also a garage, rented by Ms. Vovk, which is also being searched.

Within a criminal investigation, all necessary examinations are appointed. The conclusion about the capacity power of the activated explosive device will be made according to the results of the explosive forensic examination. The relatives of the victim, the staff and participants of the festival, witnesses of the crime were interrogated. Video recordings from outdoor surveillance cameras are being studied in order to obtain meaningful information.

The investigation plans to put Ms. Natalia Vovk on the wanted list. Other persons who may be involved in the commission of this crime are being identified.
