Investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee continue to document the after-effects of the shelling in Kirovsky raion of Donetsk

Investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, witthin a a criminal investigation, are inspecting Kirovsky raion of Donetsk, which was shelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the commanders of the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, contrary to the requirements stipulated in the Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Population dated 08/12/1949 and its Additional Protocol, which ban the use of weapons if this may cause excessive loss of life or wounds among civilians, ordered their subordinated military personnel to shell Kirovsky raion of Donetsk with artillery weapons of 152 mm caliber.

Based on fact mentioned above, investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a criminal case on the offense of a crime prescribed in Part 1, Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of the civilian persons, use of banned means and methods of warfare).

The preliminary investigation continues.
