Tajik national found guilty of murder of a girl in Kemerovo region

Court has admitted the evidence collected by the investigators of the Kemerovo Investigative Committee sufficient to sentence 23-year-old Akhliddin Saymurodov. He is found guilty of crimes stipulated by part 1 of article 105 (murder), part 1 of article 167 (wilful destruction or damage of other people's property) and paragraph “в” of part 2 of article 158 (theft) of the Russian Criminal Code.

The investigation and court have established that on 23 March 2011 the man came to his girl friend’s and they had a fight. The young woman demanded from him 40 thousand rubles and threatened to turn him into the police for a rape if he refuses to give money. Frightened perpetrator stabbed the woman with scissors several times. After that he stole a notebook computer, set the flat on fire and disappeared from the scene of the crime.

The court sentenced Saymurodov to 12 years in high security colony.
