Petrozavodsk garrison Military Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case over a Su-27 plane crash near Besovets airfield in Karelia republic – sings of crime under article 351 of the RF Criminal Code (violation of rules for flights and training for them).

An investigation group is working at the crash scene. It is known that the pilots baled out, their condition is being verified.

At present investigation operations are under way to establish all circumstances of the incident.
