On 22 August 2012 Krasnodar Territory law enforcement bodies received messages that several people died in Tuapsinsky district due to heavy rains and river floods. Krasnodar Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee organized a pre-investigation check into the facts.

According to preliminary data, on 22 August 2012 at about 3 a.m. heavy rains started in Tuapsinsky districtwhich led to flood of the rivers and streams. At that time in the village of Novomikhailovsky-2 a wave washed away a Chevrolet car into the river and a man and woman inside drowned. Their bodies were later discovered by the locals. In addition, the information about two more bodies is being checked.

At present operations are under way to find out all the circumstances of the incident. A procedural decision will be made after the check.
