Deputy Minister of Industry and Innovations of Bashkortostan suspected of official crime

The Republic of Bashkortostan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have initiated a criminal case against Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Innovations Policy of the republic of Bashkortostan Igor Kusov, 51. He is suspected of a crime under paragraph “b” of part 2 of article 285 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code (spending budgetary funds for the wrong purposes).

According to investigators, in Decmber 2011 the Deputy Minister signed with CEO of GAU RNTIC Bashtekhinform (State Autonomous Institution Republican Scientific-Technological and Information Complex) and agreement without the date which provides for financing at the expense of subsidies events developing clusters, funding of which is not provided for by a tenders application, an estimate subject to tenders proceedings and decision of the tenders commission of Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development. In violation of agreement “On subsidies from federal budget for state support of small and average business, including farming”, Kusov signed an illegal application for cash expense, according to which more than 73 million rubles were transferred to a settlement account of GAU RNTIC Bashtekhinform.

At present search and investigation operations are under way to find out all circumstances of the crime. Investigation is to be continued.
