Three suspects of murders and other serious offences, who had been on the federal wanted list detained within the framework of a criminal case against Yekaterinburg blogger

The Sverdlovsk Region investigative bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case against a blogger from Yekaterinburg and several of his accomplices. Depending on the role of each one they are charged with crimes under paragraphs “a”, “g”, “j” of part 2 of article 105 (murder of two or more persons committed by a group of people under a preliminary conspiracy with the purpose to cover another crime), paragraphs “a, d” of part 2 of article 161 (robbery, committed by a group of persons under a preliminary conspiracy with use of violence not dangerous for life or health), paragraphs “a” and “d” of part 2 of article 126 (abduction of person committed by a group of persons under a preliminary conspiracy with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons), as well as part 3 of article 30, paragraphs “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder committed by a group of people associated with robbery).

Within the framework of the investigation of the said criminal case agents of the Investigative Committee and Crime Detection Service have identified and detained several members of the sad criminal group. Namely, as early as the first stage of the investigation the three of the accomplices were put into custody, another two (considering their criminal roles) are under a written undertaking not to leave the place and behave properly.

It should be noted that four of the accomplices had escaped from the investigation and were put on a federal wanted list.

As a result of a complex of investigating and search operations and coordinated actions of agents of the Russia’s Investigative Committee, operatives of the Police Crime Detection Department of the Region and their colleagues from Saint-Petersburg and Moscow almost simultaneously at the end of 2012 three of the four persons wanted were identified and detained.

This way, a 27-year-old resident of Yekaterinburg was detained at the parking lot of Mega shopping mall in Metallurgov Street.

Almost at the same tame in Moscow the Urals operatives and their Moscow colleagues detained the second suspect aged 20. The third one, aged 27, was detained in the town of Kingisepp of the Leningrad Region. The latter was going to wait until the bustle about the criminal case would cease by getting a shift work.

No one of the suspects had time to offer any resistance during the detention and no guns were found on them. At present all three of them are delivered to Yekaterinburg and a group of investigators with their active participation carry out all necessary investigating operations to establish all the circumstances of the crimes and to check involvements of the said persons in other crimes. Under the investigators’ petition the suspects were put into custody.
