Criminal case opened in Tatarstan over murder of two women

Bodies with signs of violent death of a 76-year-old woman and her 38-year-old daughter were found in a flat in Kazan on 29 August 2012. Republic of Tatarstan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have initiated criminal proceedings into the incident over a crime under paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 105 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code (murder of two or more persons).

According to investigators, the victims lived together in the flat. It was a problem-free family. Preliminary data show that the murder was committed between 24 and 26 August 2012. The women were stabbed many times. There were words “Free Pussy Riot” rote on the wall, presumably with blood.

At present necessary investigating operations are under way to find out all the circumstances of the crime, people involved and motives. Investigation is to be continued.
