Delegation of the Russia’s Investigative Committee headed by Chairman Alexander Bastrykin takes part in Ministerial meeting at the 81st session of INTERPOL General Assembly

At the invitation of Secretary General of International Police Organization – INTERPOL and Italia’s Home Affairs Minister delegation of the Russia’s Investigative Committee headed by Chairman Alexander Bastrykin took part in a Ministerial meeting at the 81st session of INTERPOL General Assembly on 5 November 2012 in Rome (Italy).

The international event brought together representatives of more than 100 member states of INTERPOL. The parties discussed matters concerning combating not abating challenges to law and order, including in the context of battling international terrorism, extremism, human traffic, crimes against minors and economic crimes.

As part of the visit to Italy, working meetings took place between Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee A.I. Bastrykin with Secretary General of INTERPOL Ronald Noble and Italia’s Chief Prosecutor of National Anti-Mafia Bureau Pietro Grasso.

Following the results of the negotiations, exchange of opinions on urgent matters of combating criminal phenomena and discussion of legal framework for partnership in order to intensify the role and reinforce the potential for bilateral interaction the parties agreed to continue joint work in the area of criminal justice, including preparing and application of efficient legal mechanisms directed on ensuring observance of punishment inevitability principle.
