In Moscow Dmitry Vinogradov charged and placed into custody

Today the court under the petition of the investigator of the Moscow Central Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has placed Dmitry Vinogradov into custody as a pre-trial restraining measure. He is charged with crimes under paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 105 (murder of two or more people), part 3 of article 30, paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (attempted murder of two or more people).

According to investigators, in the morning of 7 November 2012, Vinogradov entered the office of the pharmaceutical company, with which he is employed and opened fire from his carbines. Two men and two women were killed at their workplaces. At the stairs to the office the suspect shot to death another of his colleagues. One man and one woman were wounded and hospitalized. Later the man died of the wounds. The woman is in grave condition.

Investigators with the participation of criminologists of the Central Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee checked testimonies of the suspect on the spot during which he gave details of his actions.

The circumstances of the crime indicate that the suspect prepared for it for a long time. The firearms are sent for a ballistic expert examination. The investigation is going to find out the circumstances, under which Vinogradov acquired the firearms and ammunition, whether he took shooting lessons, how he could freely stay in public places with two carbines and loads of ammunition. In addition in the near future the matter on psychiatric examination of the suspect will be resolved.

Vinogradov’s so called manifesto published on the web was also filed into the case. Investigation is to be continued.
