The body of 38-year-old Deputy Mufti of North Ossetia – Alania Ibragim Dudarov with many gun wounds to his head was discovered on 26 December 2012, around 11 p.m. in a GAZ-31029 car at the side of the road in the village of Chmi, Vladikavkaz. The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania have launched criminal proceedings over signs of crimes under part 1 of article 105 (murder) and part 1 of article 222 of the RF Criminal Code (illegal handling of firearms and ammunition).

9 mm cartridges were seized from the murder scene during the examination.

At present investigators are considering different versions of the crime, including those connected with professional activity of the victim. Necessary search and investigating operations are underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime and to catch persons involved. Investigation is to be continued.
