In Murmansk Region former deputy chief of regional police convicted of fraud in crediting on especially massive scale

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Murmansk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict former chief of police of the Murmansk Region Office of the Russian Interior Ministry Vladimir Globus. He was found guilty of the crime under part 4 of article 159.2 of the RF Penal Code (stealing of money while receiving other social payouts established by laws and other statutory acts by giving knowingly false information or by concealment of facts entailing cessation of the payouts on an especially massive scale).

The court and investigators have found that in August 2012 Globus used his position as a police officer and against interests of his service applied to housing commission of the Murmansk Region Office of the Russian Interior Ministry to be registered to receive a lump-sum social payout for purchasing or building housing by giving knowing false information and not telling about the property he had already had. Those illegal actions caused the federal budget damage of over 3 million rubles.

The court sentenced Globus to 1.5 years in a minimum-security penal colony and a fine of 500 thousand rubles.
