In Sevastopol, web site of Investigations Department of Russia’s Investigative Committee launched

April 7, 2014, the web site of the Sevastopol Investigations Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation was launched.

The Sevastopol Investigations Department began operating on March 26 this year. Employees of various regions of the Russian Federation were sent to the region. Yuri Moroz, the incumbent head of the Investigations Department of the Kamchatka Territory, is temporarily in charge of the Sevastopol Department. Currently, the Sevastopol branch staff consists of about 30 employees seconded from various regions of Russia. On the first day the investigators started working. Together with colleagues from the Sevastopol Prosecutions Office, they will study criminal cases that were investigated by law enforcement agencies of Ukraine. Some cases will be transferred to investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia, and some to the police.

Together with fellow police officers, Investigations Department employees respond to reported crimes, the investigation of which is within the competence of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Sevastopol residents may send their reports about crimes through the official site of the Investigations Department (http://sevastopol.sledcom.ru/). All appeals from the website visitors are considered by senior officials of the Investigations Department.

The official website of the Sevastopol Investigations Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is integrated into a single system of regional sites of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, is located on a single platform and has an interface similar to its other sites.
