In St. Petersburg, criminal investigation into murder of Belgian Brice Joseph Berth Godfried

The Investigations Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the North-West Federal District completed a criminal investigation against Valeriya Kubasova, Akhmed Umarov, Timur Makuzayev and Nasimdzhon Islomov. Depending on the role of each, they are accused of committing crimes under: Part 4,5 Article 33, Subsection "h" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (aiding and abetting in the murder for hire), Subsections "g, h" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder committed by a group of persons for hire) , Part 5, Article 33, Subsections "g, h" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (aiding and abetting in the murder for hire).

According to investigators, in April 2012, in order to solve the problems arisen from a debt owed to a Belgian citizen Brice Joseph, Valeriya Kubasova invited her friend Akhmed Umarov to murder him for money. Umarov agreed to the proposal of Kubasova about committing a murder for hire, and, together with Makuzayev, on April 5, 2012, acting under instructions from Kubasova, he met the victim at the "Pulkovo-2"airport. Under fraudulent pretext he invited him to sit in the car "Volkswagen Golf". After that, Umarov and Makuzayev took Joseph Brice in the Tosnenskiy District of the Leningrad region, where they subsequently strangled him and dumped his body in a ditch. Then Umarov, acting on an earlier agreement with Islomov, came to his place of residence, and in order to hide the crime, took off his clothes soiled with the blood of the victim, and then put on clothes Islomov gave him. Brice Joseph’s body was found in a ditch along the road "Yam – Izhora - Nikolskoye".

Investigators have collected sufficient evidence, a criminal case with the confirmed indictment will soon be sent to the court for consideration on the merits.
