Saratov Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee following a publication in media about injuries inflicted to a child, have opened a criminal case against his 33-year-old father over a crime under article 156 of the RF Penal Code (improper performance of parental duties).

According to investigators, in the afternoon of 1 November 2014, the boy born in 2007 was in the kitchen together with his parents. During lunch his father threw a fork at him and caught him in the eye. The boy was taken to hospital with a penetrating wound.

At present investigative operations are underway to find and consolidate the evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
