In Udmurtia criminal investigation launched in grand stealing of budgetary funds

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Republic of Udmurtia have launched a criminal investigation in a crime under part 2 of article 159.4 of the RF Penal Code (fraud associated with deliberate failure to execute commitments under agreement in the field of business committed on a very large scale).

It has been found out that in July 2013, one of commercial organizations undertook to improve the town of Izhevsk. The total sum of the contract was 60 million rubles.

In January 2014, the company received payment for the work done based on the execution certificates. However, an expert check revealed that the cost and the amount of work done to equip a bicycle lane and repairs of a sidewalk had been unreasonably overstated by over 5 million rubles.

At present investigative and search operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
