During the visit the Chairman met with Minister of the Interior - Member of the Council of State of Cuba Abelardo Colomé Ibarra and Attorney General Dario Delgado Cura,senior officials of investigating and forensic units.

The planned events were held during implementation of Cooperation Agreement between the Russia’s Investigative Committee and Cuba’s Interior Ministry signed in April 2012. The parties discussed results of joint activities in the field of criminal proceedings and further strengthening of cooperation between law enforcement bodies of the two countries. During the meetings they exchanged experience in organizing work of investigating and forensic divisions, scientific and educational activity.

During his trip Mr. Bastrykin visited Cuba’s Interior Ministry Academy and forensic laboratory. Noting positive experience of Cuban counterparts, the parties agreed on producing joint educational programs under the said Cooperation Agreement, training courses and bilateral consultations.

The parties confirmed importance of direct contacts between senior officials and employees of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and competent bodies of Cuba and expressed their readiness to further consolidation and extension of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of criminal proceedings.
