Suspect in murder of 10-year-old girl in Golitsyno arrested in Moscow region

Investigative agencies of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region are continuing to investigate a criminal case brought after the discovery of the body of a 10-year-old girl in a wooded area on the banks of the river Vyazemka, 150 meters from one of the houses located along the Zvenigorod highway in the town of Golitsyno, Odintsovsky District, for the offense under Part 2 of Article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder of a minor, involving raping).

As a result of investigative and search operations, together with criminal police, officers of the First Directorate for the investigation of particularly important cases of the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region arrested Konstantin Tishkin born in 1985, unemployed resident of the village of Malye Vyazemy, Odintsovsky District, in his apartment. During the interrogation, he confessed to the circumstances of the offense.

The trail of a suspect was found due to the huge volume of investigative actions conducted in a short period of time. Investigators analyzed the billing connections in the area where the crime occurred, seized more than 1,000 DNA samples from nearby residents, as well as videos from surveillance cameras throughout the city, held more than 200 interviews.

Earlier it had been reported that March 5, 2014 at about 7:30 AM, a third-grade student of the Bolshye Vyazemy gymnasium was on her way to the school walking on the path which was her daily route. According to investigators, an unknown person attacked the child and pulled her in forest 20 meters from the path where he committed crimes against sexual inviolability of the girl and then strangled her.

At present, the suspect's house is being searched, the choice of the detention as a preventive measure against him is under consideration. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
