In Moscow Alexander Emelianenko wanted for sex crime

Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case opened against sportsman Alexander Emelianenko suspected of sexual abuse and passport theft (part 1 of article 132 of the RF Penal Code and part 2 of article 325).

According to investigators, at night of 3 March 2014, in a flat in Peresvetovoy pereulok in Moscow Emelianenko attacked and abused a housekeeper. After that he stole the woman’s passport from her handbag.

It should be noted that the procedural check into the incident was launched immediately after the victim’s application was received by the law enforcement bodies. During the check investigators carried out a large amount of checking operations, including forensic medical expert examination, biological and DNA tests, psychological and physiological evaluations using a lie detector, numerous examinations and interviews of witnesses. The criminal investigation was launched following the results of the pre-investigating check.

As the suspect escaped from the investigating bodies and failed to show up at the police office for questioning and other investigating operations, Emelianenko was put on a federal wanted list. In addition, in the near future the investigators are going to issue a warrant to prosecute him as the accused.

Investigation is ongoing.
