In Moscow Region man charged in absentia of fatally injuring resident of Pushkino

The Moscow Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in close cooperation with operatives of the Moscow Region Main Office of the Russian Interior Ministry have identified a man, who on 13 May 2014 fatally injured a 22-year-old resident of the town of Pushkino. It is 25-year-old Zhakhongir Akhmedov, an Uzbek national.

The regional investigating bodies have in absentia charged Zhakhongir Akhmedov of crimes under part 4 of article 111 of the RF Penal Code (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm entailing death of the victim by negligence), part 1 of article 166 (illegal misappropriation of an automobile without intention of stealing) and part 1 of article 167 (intentional damage of another’s property).

According to investigators, on 13 May 2014, in the evening, not far from the railway station Pushkino Akhmedov and Leonid Safyannikov, who did not know each other, had a conflict about parking. The victim’s car allegedly was on the way of Akhmedov’s one. During the row Akhmedov hit the victim on his head, after which the latter fell on the ground. Then, presumably, trying to feign an accident, Akhmedov set in the victim’s BMW and drove it into a post 20 meters from the crime scene, damaging the hood and radiator enclosure. The unconscious young man was delivered in the Professor Rozanov Pushkino District Hospital, where he died next night.

According to a forensic medical expert the victim died of a closed craniocerebral trauma, fracture to occipital bone, brain contusion.

At present the investigators are taking every possible step to find the accused. Orders have been given to operative services to hold Akhmedov as soon as possible and bring him to the investigating office.
