Head of Voronezh Region office of Federal Migration Service suspected of massive bribery

The Central Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation against head of the Voronezh Region Office of the Federal Migration Service Nikolay Polukazakov. He is suspected of a crime under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (receiving a bribe in the form of property on an especially massive scale).

According to investigators, in September 2013 Polukazakov whose authority it was to organize activity of the office headed by him to issues permits to involve in work foreign citizens in the Russian Federation, received a Volkswagen Tyaper worth 2.5 million rubles as a bribe from a representative of a commercial organization in the Voronezh Region. For that the suspect promised to ensure the most favorable conditions to a number of commercial organizations in making foreign workers’ permits, to make preferable conditions for them in receiving part-time residence and residents permits.

At present investigating operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime. Investigation is ongoing.
