In Moscow criminal investigation launched against employees of OAO MOESK

The investigating bodies of the Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal case against CEO of High-Voltage Cable Networks – affiliate of OAO MOESK Eduard Podadayev and Svetlana Serednyakova, head of department in the company. They are charged with a crime under paragraph “a” of part 4 of article 204 of the RF Penal Code (commercial bribery committed by an organized group in a preliminary conspiracy).

According to investigators, in the period between April and May 2014, Podadayev and Serednyakova during several personal meetings demanded from CEO of a commercial organization 3 million rubles for paying the fees under the contracts on setting and repairs of fire alarms in the affiliates of MOESK. Otherwise they threatened to tear up agreements with all affiliates of MOESK.

On May 26, 2014, Serednyakova was detained by law enforcement officials when receiving two million rubles at the affiliate of the organization in Nizhnyaya Krasnoselskaya street in Moscow.

The detainees have been charged and tomorrow the investigators are going to file a motion with a court to place them in custody. The accused have not admitted their guilt and refused to testify. The investigation is ongoing.
