In Samara Region businessman and former officials of military registration and enlistment office put on trial for stealing over 107 million rubles put aside for monuments

The Military Investigations Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for Samara garrison has finished investigating a criminal case against businessman Alexander Golovin and former officials of the Social Support Center of the Samara Region military registration and enlistment office Sergey Alekseev and head of the department Olga Soldatova. They are charged with a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud on an especially large scale).

According to investigators, during 2009-2012, Golovin acting in an organized group with Alekseev and Soldatova, multiple times filed with the Samara Region military registration and enlistment office forged documents claiming compensation of his expenses on making and setting the monuments on the graves of the Great Patriotic War veterans. Based on the forged documents the Russian Ministry of Defense transferred to the businessman’s bank account over 107 million rubles. But in fact the said work had not been done.

During the initial investigation admitted their guilt in full, Golovin and Soldatova concluded a pretrial cooperation deals and paid: Golovin – 4.1 million rubles, Alekseev – 7.9 million rubles and Soldatova – 500 thousand rubles to repay the damage caused to the state.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, therefore, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
