In Rostov Region investigation against lawyer Manukyan suspected of tampering with evidence in especially serious crime case continued

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the Rostov Region continue investigating a criminal case against lawyer of the affiliate of Rostov Legal Center Svetlana Manukyan. She is suspected of a crime under part 3 of article 303 of the RF Penal Code (forgery of evidence in the investigation of an especially serious crime).

According to investigators, in 2012, the suspect was defending Alexey Serenko charged with murdering the Chudakovs, who later was rehabilitated. She made a report on witness questioning, where she put knowingly false information that in 2009 a resident of the Rostov Region found a bag with documents on the name of official of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Main Office of Interior Affairs Dmitry Chudakov and his wife Irina Chudakova not far from the murder scene and made that resident sign the forged report. Then she filed a motion to recognize a number of investigating operations inadmissible, including one of the main documents – the crime scene examination report and filed the forged report as the evidence. The investigator satisfied the motion in part filing the witness questioning report to the case.

However, the files of the Chudalovs murder criminal case show that Irina Chudakova’s passport was found in the victims’ car during the examination, Dmitry Chudakov’s police ID was found during a search in the residence of the Tarverdiyevs accused of the murder. Almost three years after the murder the witness presented to the investigation by the suspect refused to confirm the facts state in the questioning report and said that Manukyan had made him to sign it.

The investigation is ongoing.
