The Head of Russian Investigative Committee held briefing in Rostov-on-Don

Today Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has paid the Rostov Region a working visit.

The visit started from the customs checkpoint Novoshakhtinsk - Dolzhansky, situated at Russian-Ukrainian border sector in Krasny Sulin District which recently has been shelled by Ukrainian side wounding a customs officer. The Chairman got acquainted with the progress of investigating and procedural operations carried out by the investigators related to the criminal cases opened by the Russian Investigative Committee into the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare and the attempted murder of local citizens by servicemen of Ukrainian Armed Forces, armed members of the National Guard and Right Sector gunmen. The Chairman personally talked to the citizens who had to flee Ukraine.

In addition, a briefing chaired by Alexander Bastrykin was held in Rostov-on-Don, attended by heads and officers of the RF Investigative Committee’s Central Office and a number of heads of regional investigations directorates to hear a report on the progress of abovementioned cases.

The Heads of investigations directorates in the regions bordering Ukraine also reported on the cooperation between law enforcement agencies and authority bodies in relation to the threat of emergency situations at Russian territory, connected with political events in Ukraine.

Following the meeting Mr. Bastrykin gave a number of specific instructions.
