Member of criminal group Alexander Matusov deported to Russia and delivered in Moscow today

Today member of a criminal group Alexander Matusov has been deported to the Russian Federation and in the near future will arrive in one of Moscow airports. Then he will be delivered to an investigator of the Moscow Region Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee, where he will be charged with several attempted murders of businessmen (part 2 of article 15, part 2 article 17.1, paragraphs “e” and “h” of article 102 of the RSFSR Penal Code and part 2 of article 17.1, paragraph “h” of article 102). After that he will be questioned.

According to investigators, on 17 November 1996, in the village of Sverdlovskoye, Shchelkovo District, Moscow Region, the members of the criminal group headed by Pavel Bondartskov attacked 4 businessmen killing three of them and wounding the fourth one. In addition, during the probe the investigators got proves of close relation between Bondartskov’s group and the organizers of Kingsepp armed gang, including former member of Federation Council of the Russian Federation Igor Izmestyev.

Earlier a court has sentenced eight members of the criminal group, including its leader to between 6 and 21 years in prison to be served in a maximum-security penalty colony. In 2010, Igor Izmestyev was sentenced to life in prison.

The other day Matusov was apprehended thanks to cooperation between law enforcement bodies of Russia and Thailand. One of gang members Oleg Rogatin is still internationally wanted.
