In Moscow Region three defendants in furniture holding 8 Marta president murder case to stand trial

The investigating bodies of the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region have finished investigating a criminal case over murder of president of a group of companies Furniture Factory 8 Marta. Three defendants depending on the role of each one in the crime are charged with crimes under part 3 of article 33, paragraphs “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (organization of murder), paragraphs “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder) and part 2 of article 222 of the RF Penal Code (illegal circulation of weapons). The fourth defendant, the killer, escaped from investigators and is now wanted. The criminal case against the man was severed in a separate proceeding.

According to the investigators, the organizer of the murder was the businessman’s business partner. The motive was that the latter had irrationally spent the money the businessman had given to buy several buildings owned by OAO Ryazan Motion-Picture Printing Factory located in the city of Ryazan. In January 2012, the accused, afraid that businessman might take some steps regarding his irrational spending of the money and failure to fulfill guaranteed obligations in buying buildings from Ryazan Motion-Picture Printing Factory, and sure that the businessman would demand compensation, decided to have him killed. Together with the perpetrators they devised a plan and killed the businessman.

The criminal case with the approved indictment will soon be sent to court to be tried on the merits.
