The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Novgorod Region have launched a criminal investigation into crimes under article 116 (battery), article 119 of the RF Penal Code (threat with murder or grievous bodily harm) after a teenager beat an elderly woman. The base for the case was a video posted on the Internet and a number of media.

According to preliminary reports, a 15-year-old local resident in public beat a 52-year-old woman near a house on Volkov Street, Avtovoksalny District, Nizhny Novgorod.

The investigators will take all possible measures to identify the person involved in the crime and prosecute him. The investigation is under special control of the Central Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee.
